چکیده

An analytical approximate solution is developed for predicting the thermal resistance of bolted joints between two square plates . of the same material but different thicknesses. The plates are assumed to have perfectly flat and smooth surfaces, and they are joined by a bolted connection at the center of the square, forming a concentric annular contact region at the interface. The entire surface area of the plates are insulated, except for the surfaces where the heat source/sink is applied and where the interracial contact is formed. The heat flows from one edge of a plate to the opposite edge of the other plate through the contact area. The results are presented over a wide range of variables commonly found in most electronic packaging applications. Comparisons with published numerical results show excellent agreement, and satisfactory to good agreement is obtained between the analytical predictions and” experimental data. Investigation on the Effect of Tigthening Torque on the Stress Distribution in Double Lap Simple Bolted and Hybrid (Bolted -Bonded) Joints

In this research, the effects of torque tightening on the stress distribution in double lap simple bolted and hybrid (bolted-bonded) joints have been investigated numerically. In order to determine the bolt clamping force value due to tightening torque in simple bolted and hybrid joints, which is necessary in numerical simulation, an experimental approach has been proposed. To do so, two kinds ...

Analytical and Experimental Investigation of I Beam-to-CFT Column Connections under Monotonic Loading (RESEARCH NOTE)

In this study, the behavior characteristics of I beam-to-concrete filled tube (CFT) column connection is studied through experiment and finite element models under the monotonic loading. To validate the finite element modeling, at first, an experimental model is made and experimented. After validation of the finite element modeling, different models were created in the software. The studied par...

Transient Thermal and Structural Analysis of Cylinder and Bolted Joints on BOG Compressor During Starting Process

BOG (Boil off Gas) compressor deals with the gas evaporated from the LNG storage tank. Its working temperature is lower than-120℃. There are two types of starting process for BOG compressor: Direct Starting and No-load Starting. During the starting process, the temperature on cylinder will change rapidly and result in additional thermal stress to some parts on the cylinder, especially to the bo...
